For someone with no bike
For someone with no bike mechanic experience, identifying which bottom bracket tools I needed was confusing at first (since there so many types bottom brackets). But once that was figured out and bottom bracket / crank puller tools were bought, it was relatively easy to follow the many videos available on Youtube and install the ebike conversion kit over a weekend.

This bike is now over 2 years old it started as a bare Giant frame & was built around the Bafang bbs02 750w kit . Love it but decided to lower the chain ring count & went for the Lekkie parts. Have had a lot of fun on this bike 👌

Bought a new Marin Stinson 2 bike, mounted the photon motor and the 52v 20ah battery, kit is really simple to install. I like the SW102 display, small and tidy, still gives plenty of info and I can always use the phone app for more info. I did fit two extra rivnuts to compliment the two bottle cage mounts on the down tube for the battery mount. Only ridden the bike a few kilometres so far, will do more over the weekend, the motor, very quiet and smooth pickup, climbs steep hills no problemo. I picked this bike because it has pedal forward allows me to place my foot flat on the ground, I can step over the frame and it only has a single chain wheel so I didn't have to remove a front shifter and the cabling etc, the nine speed cassette has a wide range Will be adding hydraulic brakes, mudguards, lights and probably a rear rack as the frame has all the mount points for these.

It’s amazing, I can cruise along keeping up with traffic and don’t break a sweat! Quite fun going up and down through the gears and hearing the motor change pitch like a motor bike. I even got the front wheel to lift as I launched off the in front of the traffic, pedalling with full assistance. The guy next to me in the hot hatch looked completely confused.

This is my third Photon upgrade over the last 12 months, so I am obviously very happy with the product and level of support from Cap Rouge. The previous two were MTBs for off-road use but this one is primarily a bike path and road cruiser/commuter. My advice would be to spend time with the CYC Ride App (which is excellent) setting up the bike to suit your personal riding style and preferences. If you just ‘turn it up to 11’ you won’t get the best riding experience (eg surging) or the most out of the flexibility that the kit can provide. There are excellent resources on line and on YouTube to help you with this. Once dialed in, you can pretty much forget about it and enjoy the ride!

The Lekkie Onenut solved the problem of a loosely mounted motor, it's going nowhere now, along with the Lekkie Sixteen-44 Socket V1 to torque it down, my goodness that socket fits like a glove, and was effortless to torque it up to the recommended specs.
